Everything flowed very smoothly, and there was an actual, genuine story to follow. The game has one tutorial level, a semi-scripted case for you to learn the mechanics. You can search for clues however you want, and connecting the case facts into a solid theory is entirely left to your own wits and creativity. The city truly feels alive, there are literally hundreds of moving parts at any given moment. There is absolutely no hand-holding or "set path" you have to take to solve a mystery. Shadows of Doubt has incredible highs and frustrating lows.Īt its best, the game is an unbeatable detective experience.
